Dessert wines are very much en vogue at the moment, after a period during which many sweet wines were viewed with a fair degree of suspicion. With so many styles, region of origin and grape varieties to chose from, there is something for everyone.

Tasting Notes : Aromas of ripe papaya, peach and dried apricot are followed by a rich, sweet palate of honeyed fruit.

Producer : Concha y Toro

Method of Production : The grapes are harvested at the end of May and taken to the winery where they are destemmed, crushed and placed in stainless steel tanks to undergo fermentation. After fermentation, the wine matures in tank for 24 to 30 months.

A really good pudding wine.Nose of peaches, palate finishing with honey - lots of honey; but not cloyingly sweet, there is enough acid to balance. Good enough for any company, cheap enough to drink when alone.

Bought as a purely speculative purchase, this impressed all 6 who tried it. Well balanced and with a clean finish, it is well worth the asking price.
