Battle of Bosworth Chardonnay Viognier

With the Battle of Bosworth wines organic viticulture is combined with traditional vinification and minimal processing, all to ensure the purity, integrity, and flavour of the vineyard. The decision to blend a little Viognier into the Chardonnay for this single vineyard wine was easy. As well as lending terrific aromas the Viognier adds a tropical note to the wine with hints of rich apricot blossom and apple custard. The Chardonnay brings grapefruit and white stone fruits to the mix.

Tasting Notes : The nose shows tropical notes of paw paw and passionfruit, whilst the palate is fresh and balanced with more exotic flavours of star fruit, peach and melon, but with a crisp and tight acidity to finish.

Method of Production : The single vineyard, organically grown grapes were destemmed, pressed and fermented separately; the Chardonnay in stainless steel tanks and the Viognier in old French oak barriques. The wines were allowed to mature in the respective containers for five months, with malolactic conversion prevented, before being gently filtered, blended and bottled.
