d'Arenberg 'The Lucky Lizard' Chardonnay

Made in d'Arenberg's trademark up-front fruity style, this is the leader of their Chardonnay pack, with more subtle flavours than usual having been encouraged by the cool climate of the Adelaide Hills - a microclimate comparable with Burgundy.

Tasting Notes : The nose is immediately inviting with volumes of gooseberries, guava and the characteristic cool-climate granny smith apple characteristics. Oaky spices, mainly nutmeg, are very well integrated and flow right through the palate, leaving a mineral and tropical finish.

Method of Production : The Burgundy-like homoclime of the Adelaide Hills is very cool. The fruit was lightly pressed (so light that the lucky lizards slip through unscathed) prior to fermentation in French oak barriques. After six months oak maturation only the very best barrels of Chardonnay were selected for release under the 'Lucky Lizard' label.
