Barolo Boroli
Product Code:
Boroli are relative new comers to the winemaking scene, but have used their money to purchase and rehabilitate historic vineyard sites with quality terroir. The winemaking approach used is modern (i.e. stainless steel fermenters and oak barriques) without overpowering the classic Nebbiolo characteristics. The result: Borolo for the next generation.
Tasting Notes : The elegant nose shows nuances of dried fruit, leather and tobacco, with hints of violets and oak spice. On the palate it has great power yet the fine tannins and well-balanced acidity complement the dark morello cherry fruit and lavender flavours.
Producer : Boroli
Method of Production : The handpicked, estate-grown grapes were destemmed, crushed and macerated on their skins before being fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks over a period of eight to ten days. Malolactic conversion was encouraged and the wine was aged for two years in barrel (50% French oak barriques, and 50% in large oak foudres) then two years in bottle prior to release. This wine was not filtered before bottling.
