ABOUT THIS WINE: The sleepy village of Vacqueyras has two claims to fame: its most famous son, the 11th century minstrel Raimbaud and its wines, for which it is certainly better known today. This wine is produced by winemaker Serge Ollivier at the Cave des Vignerons de Vacqueyras, one of the most highly reputed co-operatives in the Rhône Valley. The vineyards lie in the shadow of the dramatic Dentelles de Montmirail mountains, where the warm Mediterranean sun brings the ancient Grenache and Syrah vines used in this blend to perfect ripeness.
SERVING: This wine is best served at room temperature. Its full-bodied character makes it the perfect accompaniment to grilled meat, warming stews and spicy dishes. It also works well with mild hard cheeses.
KEEPING: This wine is ready to drink now and is best enjoyed with food. If well stored it will continue to improve in bottle for up to 5 years. Once opened it will remain in good condition if resealed and kept in a cool place for 48 hours.
Licensing Act 2003: it is an offence for any person under 18 years to buy or attempt to buy alcohol
