"You tend to have to pay a little more for Fleurie...but it's worth it when the wine is as good as this", Recommended by Tim Atkin MW, The Observer, August 2007.
An aromatic, fruity and elegant red from one of the top villages in Beaujolais. There's an inviting perfume of violets and strawberries and a soft, tangy flavour of red fruits and peaches
ABOUT THIS WINE: The wines of Fleurie, one of the top vineyard sites in the Beaujolais region, are considered among the most attractive light reds in the world, with a lively juicy character and wonderfully smooth texture. This premium example has been made from 100% hand-picked Gamay grapes, with half the batch aged in large oak casks for several months. The winemaker was Jean-Pierre Teissedre of Domaine Grille-Midi, whose family has made fine Beaujolais for many generations.
PRESS RECOMMENDATIONS: ''...You tend to have to pay a little more for Fleurie - partly because it's such a famous name - but it's worth it when the wine is as good as this juicy, concentrated, lightly oaked red...'' Recommended by Tim Atkin, The Observer, '25 Best Summer Wines for over £8', 19th August 2007
