ABOUT THIS WINE: Muscadet is the classic wine of the Nantes area at the western extreme of France's Loire Valley. It is made from the Melon de Bourgogne grape. This vibrant, fruity example has been aged on its lees to add roundness and richness to the finished wine. The fully ripe grapes come from mature vines grown on a specific part of the vineyard called Moulin des Cossardiéres. It was made by Philippe Chon whose family has been making wine on this estate since 1650.
SERVING: Serve this wine lightly chilled. It is delicious served on its own, and makes a brilliant match for fresh seafood, especially oysters, prawns or simple grilled white fish.
KEEPING: This wine is at its best when young and lively. Enjoy it within 6 months of purchase and once opened, finish within 2 days, resealing the bottle and storing it in the fridge.
