Torres Viña Esmeralda

Nothing illustrates the passion and creativity in the new wave of Spanish winemaking better than Torres Esmeralda. So good it was served by the President of Poland when Bill Clinton arrived on a state visit.

Tasting Notes : Off-dry with intensely fruity and floral aromas of passion fruit, ripe banana, jasmine and a hint of spice. Sealed with a Stelvin closure for maximum freshness.

Producer : Torres

Method of Production : A combination of 85% Moscatel and 15% Gewurztraminer harvested from vines with an average age of 10-15 years. After pressing, the wine was fermented for a two-week period in stainless steel tanks. Cool temperatures were employed throughout to retain its delicate aromas and flavours. The absence of oak influence allows this pure fruit character to sing.

This wine is seriously good, a must try for those who like Gewurztraminer. Unusual for a spanish wine, i have to say, however it really is delightful!

My wife and I had a couple of bottles of Esmerelda while we were having a meal in a wonderful restaurant in the harbour in San Antonio, Ibiza. The perfect wine for a lazy summer evening. Thanks Oddbins for stocking this wine.

A great discovery on a recent holiday in Spain. This is a very exciting white wine, perfectly dry yet full of flavour. A real winner that has made such an impact, I have searched everywhere for it since I have returned. Very relieved Oddbins can supply.
