Zonnebloem Chardonnay

A very rainy, early summer encouraged botrytis development in the grapes, which imparted complex honeysuckle notes and complemented the tempered oak and citrus fruit flavours. In all, this is a great addition to our range.
Tasting Notes : Deep golden in colour, the toasty marmalade nose shows flashes of botrytis which reflects on the silky, limey palate.
Producer : Zonnebloem
Method of Production : Destemmed fruit was crushed and pressed, with the light pressings separated from the final pressings. Cold settled for 48 hours, the must fermented in 45% stainless steel vats and the rest in new, mainly French, medium-toast oak barrels. 20% of the total blend underwent a malolactic fermentation and the portion in oak had regular stirring of the lees for 6.5 months. The wine was cold stabilised, earth filtered and fined before blending and bottling.
