Obikwa Chardonnay

Named after one of South Africa's earliest known peoples in the Cape, Obikwa Chardonnay is a well-made wine in a very accessible style.

Tasting Notes : An easy-drinking, refreshing wine with rounded peach and pear fruits, and a hint of warm oak.

Producer : Obikwa

Method of Production : Destemmed grapes were pressed and cooled, with 85% cold-fermented in stainless steel tanks and the remainder in oak barrels. Partial malolactic fermentation was allowed and 20% of the wine was left in contact with the lees, helping to intensify the flavour.

Tried this wine as part of an Oddbins offer. Delicate fruit flavour, very easy to drink, goes particularly well with fish and light meals or enjoy a glass or two on its own.
