Rose d'Anjou Bougrier

This Loire rosé is absolutely lovely. Packed full of summer fruit flavour as well as having a touch of residual sweetness though with crisp fresh fruit flavours too, this is not the silly bubble gum juice of the 70s! Simply great for the garden. The grapes for this wine were sourced through the recently established (year 2000) Caves de l'Angevine. They make sure that the vineyards are kept along the lines of agriculture raisonnée, that is, with respect for the land and the environment.

Tasting Notes : Fun, round and fruity, with a soft touch that never becomes cloying. Think raspberries, strawberries, cherries, white peaches with a fresh cleansing finish.

Method of Production : Les Caves de l'Angevine is a coop that sources its grapes from growers with whom it has long-term quality contracts. The machine harvested grapes were partly (20%) whole bunch pressed the rest were destemmed and crushed. Fermentation occurred in stainless steel vats at low temperatures (12 to 13 °C) for 25 to 30 days. The wine was then allowed to rest on its fine lees before being fined, filtered and bottled.
