A stunning-value Claret that's an Oddbins' exclusive and a treasure from this not-so-cherished area. Full-bodied and well-coloured, the chunky fruit has a supple, chocolate character with good concentration.

Tasting Notes : An opaque, purple-coloured wine, the bouquet shows jammy, ripe black berry fruits against tarry notes. Concentrated and full-bodied, the palate is succulent with sweet tannins on the finish.

Producer : Château Plain-Point

Method of Production : Set amongst beautiful rolling hills in the tranquil Fronsac countryside, the fertile soils of the appellation have to be carefully managed to prevent overproduction. The vines have an average age of 45 years and were harvested by hand from mid-September on. Vinified in stainless steel, the wine was aged for 12 months in barrels (50% new oak) before bottling.

Rabbit, bacon and onion stew would be perfect for the wine, but chunky, roasted and stuffed sweet red peppers wouldn't be a bad match either.
