ABOUT THIS WINE: This wine was made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grown in France's Loire Valley, which is famous for its elegant, fresh whites. The grapes came mainly from the Haut-Poitou region, which has cool autumn nights and chalky soils well suited to this grape variety. The winemakers were Denis Rulandeau and Serge de Bucy. This wine is unoaked so its pure fruity flavours really shine through.PRESS RECOMMENDATIONS: ''...I know Guardian readers are keen followers of the less-than-a -fiver wine, so here is a shout for the Sauvignon Blanc 2007 Vin de Pays... It is pretty good at the price too - robust, fruity and tending towards some New World character...'' Recommended by Victoria Moore, The Guardian, June 2008
