COMMENDED at the International Wine Challenge 2008

This is Syrah at its very best - bursting with rich, ripe blackcurrant flavour and with intriguing hints of roasted nuts, spice and black pepper. The finish is long and satisfying yet rounded, mellow and creamy

More Information

  • ABOUT THIS WINE: The northern-most appellation of the Rhône Valley, Côte Rôtie is world-famous for its amazingly concentrated red wines. Here the hot, dry summers create an intense ripeness in the fruit, enhanced in this premium wine by 18 months barrel maturation which has added spicy, creamy roots. The Syrah grapes were picked from hand-worked vineyards and the wine was made by Pierre-Jean Villa.

SERVING: Serve at room temperature with roast red meat, especially lamb, or peppery stews. Or try this wine with hard, mature cheeses such as farmhouse cheddar or a chunk of Parmesan.

KEEPING: This wine has been released ready to drink now but it will keep in a good condition for a further 4 years if stored correctly. Once opened, keep the bottle resealed between servings and finish in 3 days, storing the wine in a cool, dark place.

Licensing Act 2003: it is an offence for any person under 18 years to buy or attempt to buy alcohol
