More Information

  • ABOUT THIS WINE: The grapes for this wine were hand picked at Château Panchille, near Libourne, Bordeaux. Although the wine is labelled simply Bordeaux Supérieur, this is a particularly fine example that has been made with meticulous care by the progressive winemaker Pascal Sirat, whose family has long owned the property. The blend is mainly Merlot with a little Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon and the wine was aged in oak barrels for 12-18 months before bottling. The winemaker was Pascal Sirat, who inherited the château from his father.

SERVING: Serve at room temperature. The traditional match for this wine is roast red meat, especially beef and lamb, but do try it with peppered steaks and mature, full-flavoured cheeses as well.

KEEPING: This wine is ready to drink now but will keep well for a further 2 years if stored correctly. Once opened, finish within 3 days and keep the resealed bottle in a cool, dark place between servings.

Licensing Act 2003: it is an offence for any person under 18 years to buy or attempt to buy alcohol

When out of the bottle for a while there where notes of coffee on the nose. I will definately buy this wine again. Great quality Bordeaux for less than £10.
