A soft and aromatic Italian white with notes of sweet ripe pear, apricot and honey. This mid-weight wine is full of flavour, showing lovely spicy acidity and hints of dried wild herbs on the finish
ABOUT THIS WINE: This wine is produced from the highly regarded Arneis grape, a traditional variety grown in the hills of the Langhe DOC in the temperate northwest of Italy. The vines that grow in the upper reaches of the Tanaro river compete for space and forests of beech, chestnut and pine trees amid the steep rocky valleys and rolling hills. The grapes gain a distinctive mineral character as their flavours develop slowly, nurtured by vines whose roots reach down into the ancient soils in the region. Hand-harvesting and careful winemaking under the stewardship of Claudio Manera have yielded an aromatic and elegant wine with great depth of flavour.
SERVING: Serve lightly chilled either as an aperitif or with foods that have a gentle citric/spice kick such as lemon-baked chicken, mixed charcuterie or smoked fish dishes.
KEEPING: This wine can be kept for up to 12 months after purchase. Once opened drink with a couple of days and keep the bottle resealed in the fridge.
Licensing Act 2003: It is an offence for any person under 18 years to buy or attempt to buy alcohol
