The warm climate of the Barossa valley is widely associated with some of the biggest, boldest flavours in Aussie winemaking. From the already legendary stable of Peter Lehmann, this combines oodles of fruit with no little complexity and immense drinkability.

Tasting Notes : A big and powerfully flavoured wine with aromas of toasty blackcurrant combining with a distinctive drop of eucalyptus. The palate is full-bodied with juicy, crushed berry flavours and a long, black fruited finish.

Method of Production : Peter Lehmann Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from grapes grown in the company's own vineyards and those of selected growers, all situated in the warm Barossa Valley. Vinification took place in stainless steel tanks where the wine remained for malolactic fermentation. 12 months' maturation in American and French oak hogsheads (300 litre barrels) imparted fine cedary tannins, mellow complexity and subtle, smoky vanilla flavours.

This wine is huge. The blackcurrants and oak assault the palate and this continues into a long luxuriant finish. Not a subtle wine and the oak becomes a bit overpowering as you get through the bottle, which begs the question of whether it would age well.
