1/28 Signed Clipped Wing Spitfire Mk XVI Raymond Baxter WoodA unique and exclusive 1:28, hand-carved and painted wooden replica of Raymond Baxter's Spitfire from the daring Shell-Mex house bombing raid in 1945. Just a few days before he died, we were privileged to have Raymond sign for us a limited edition replica of his favourite and most famous aircraft, the Spitfire Mk XVI that he flew on the bombing raids in Holland on the 18th March 1945. For those who are not familiar with Bravo Delta's wooden models, they truly are individual works of art. Each aircraft takes up to 20 hours to carve from kiln dried mahogany before receiving up to 35 coats of paint. With a wingspan of some 17 inches, 43cm, no decals are employed in the creation of these pieces, every roundel and detail is lovingly painted by hand. |
