Tomato Costuluto Fiorentino
Huge, delicious, juicy Italian tomatoes. My number one favourite from our taste trials last year. Its more prolific and easier to grow than other larger-fruited kinds.
Sowing:
Sow under cover at end of Feb/early March for planting out in April/May. Can be grown in a greenhouse or outside in a sunny, fertile, well-sheltered spot. Under cover or outside they need staking, and regular watering and feeding for best results. Need trimming and support, pinch out the tops once they have set 5 or 6 trusses. While still small, you also need to pinch out the side shoots
Thinning or Planting Distance:
Plants should be planted firmly and deeply -up to their seed leaves- at least 60cm apart.
Harvesting:
July-September. Fruit on outside plants will not ripen after September so pick green and bring in to ripen on a windowsill.
