4-Jan-2008 TonyB: hi i am interested in this lcd but am wondering if you can explain the extra 300 pounds from the 40v3000U all i can decipher from tech spec is double contrast ratio and a little better brightness! what would also help is if you could advise on whether the extra cost is justified and would the extra cost between model KDL46W2000U and KDL40W3000U are the technologies worth the sacrifice in screen size? or would i be better getting the 40v3000U and sacrificing the extra 6" and saving the £200

Easycom: they all have different Bravia engines, the W has true 24p motion flow & better surround sound &v differnt finish. X is same spec as W but with 100hz motion flowUSB connection & live colour creation. Between the V & W, if I had the money I'd go for the W, looks better & better image

10-Jan-2008 Jason: Does this TV support 100Hz? Which TV would you recommend between this and the Samsung LE46F86BD? The samsung is larger and has a better Dynamic Contrast Ratio, but will the Sony have much of a noticeably better picture quality? Does 100Hz mean this not 'ghost' as much as my old LCD?

Easycom: I would go for the Samsung, bigger screen and 100hz. 100hz is the refresh rate of the picture which helps eliminate picture drag especially on fast moving images
