Freecom's new TapeWare solution based on HP technology is convincing not only for its rapid data transfer rate of up to 120 MB/sec., but also for the generous capacities of up to 800 GB on a single medium (based on a compression ratio of 2:1, native up to 400 GB).
The new LTO920 is equipped with an Ultra 320 SCSI/LVD connection and is read-compatible with the LTO3, LTO2 and LTO1, and also write-compatible with the LTO3 and LTO2. Write-protected back-ups can be created and data archived in accordance with regulations with the special LTO3 WORM media (Write Once Read Many). The "Backup Basic 8.1" software from Freecom?s long-term co-operation partner Yosemite Technologies included in the package ensures convenient and reliable data back-up. With an average MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) of 250,000 hours, the LTO3 HH guarantees security of data in non-stop use. In order to further guarantee smooth, long-term operation, the LTO920 is equipped with fully automatic cleaning of the writing head. In the event of a system crash, the function "One Button Disaster Recovery" enables the fast and fully automatic restoration of the server environment. Because it supports all common operating systems, such as Windows, Linux, Mac OS und Unix (to mention only the major ones), the LTO guarantees reliable data back-up for almost every network environment. The new LTO920, like all other Freecom TapeWare products, complies with the electrical and electronics guidelines WEEE and RoHs.
