Not many years ago, if you wanted a radio controlled model plane then you had to go to your local model shop, hand over several hundred pounds and invest many hours building something that would inevitably crash shortly after takeoff, resulting in an expensive pile of smouldering firewood.

There are no such problems with the Palm Z Micro Plane! Designed from the start to be used indoors, it is constructed from sturdy polypropylene foam, which allows it to shrug off knocks and crashes. It is also far less devastating when you crash into the TV or Uncle Albert's left ear.

Weighing just 10 grammes (that's less than half an ounce in old money) undoubtedly helps, but this has only been made possible by the very latest technology. The tiny but effective electric motor is powered by a lithium-polymer battery (the same technology used in the very latest mobile phones). Charging only takes 10 minutes which is good for around 5 minutes flying time. Cunningly, it is designed as "pusher prop" which means the propeller is mounted just behind the wings rather than at the front. This means Uncle Albert's left ear won't get shredded, and the prop is far less prone to damage.

Instead of having a conventional (but heavy) radio control, the Palm Z boasts ultra an lightweight infra-red system, similar to that used in TVs and DVD players, but on it's own special frequency. The controls are simple and easy to learn, so you will be whizzing around the lounge in no time.

Challenge your mates to see who can perform the most outrageous stunts - or buy two of them on different channels and you can have office dogfights, challenging for the departmental Biggles trophy! Chocks away!

Turning Tip: To fly your Palm Z in the smallest possible space, carefully trim the Tailplane a little to open up the rear slot, to allow the maximum Rudder movement in each direction. Please note though that we cannot accept returns after modification.
