Hands up who hasn't got Stoli squirrelled away in their drinks cabinets? A classic vodka which is authentically Russian.

Tasting Notes : A clean white spirit with pure, neutral, flavours and an enduring crispness on the palate reminiscent of a Siberian glacier.

Producer : Stolichnaya

Method of Production : A pure grain vodka that is only distilled in Russia. An alcoholic base was made by fermenting a mixture of fine winter wheat (rather than lesser grains like corn) and pure, soft glacial Siberian water. Three distillations produce highly refined strong spirits that were then filtered through quartz and activated charcoal leaving them pure. The spirit was diluted with pure water to 37.5% alcohol prior to bottling.

Drink straight or with 1 part dry vermouth to 6 parts vodka 'Shaken, not stirred!'

Stoly

An excellent vodka, especially when served frozen. Even better (if you can find it) is Stolichnaya Gold, which, in my opinion, is worth 5 stars.

I wouldn't make a Martini out of it by choice (something like Stoli Cristall or Grey Goose is best). But its a damn site better than certain brands for everything else vodka related.

This is a 1950-s Stalinist vodka with a hint of communist dachas and fermented Gulags. Has a strong nostalgic pre-taste and in extreme situations can be used as an after-shave. Some subtulties of flavor were lost with the time.

Excellent ice cold and served into an ice cold Stoli glass. Suggested party game - everyone drinks several large cold glasses and then you all have to guess who you are. Bonus points if you can feel your teeth.
